Mac Users, Don't forget the VGA converter

Wow do Mac users not have it easy when it comes to external monitors and projectors. Don't forget that the few projectors that do allow direct connect to computers use VGA. MacBook users will need the Mini Display Port Adapter to DVI, then a converter for DVI to VGA, and then you can finally connect to the projector.

Clean, Portable Business Projector

We recently came across a photo of an Aaxa M1+ Micro Projector being used for a PowerPoint Presentation. These portable projectors are getting to the point that they are a viable option for all types of business professionals. Although they are still not good for bright environments their power is growing. Slightly dim to dark environments are ideal for the best experience.

Impressive Laser Setup

Today we share with you a photo showing the true power of these new laser projectors. This is the L1 Laser Projector from Aaxa Technologies showing off a screen that must be at least 100 inches. You can see the television below is much smaller than the projection above. Impressive, that's the only thing we can say. We have yet to test the MicroVision ShowWx, the only other laser pico projector on the market, but you can't go wrong with the L1 from Aaxa.

iPhone Movie Theater

We found this video showing the power of a pico projector when combined with an iPhone. The resolution coming out of an iPhone isn't very high, only 640x480, but the pico is still able to get a decent picture at up to 80 inches.

New iPhone Pico Projector App Out

After seeing several announcements about a new iPhone app made specifically to demo your pico projector we decided to be the first to buy it and show it off! We easily give this the "most pointless app" ever award (though the competition is stiff). We have been trying to rack our brains for reasons to use it and so far have come up with: scare the crap out of your kids/wife with a 7 foot spider on your wall, pretend you have a pet bird who hangs out on your ceiling, teach your kids the different animals, and finally the winning reason "give these people $5 of your hard earned money for no reason." Yep, this app, which should be free, costs $5. At least now we will be the only ones to buy it and hopefully save some of you your hard earned cash.

Here are some pictures for you that we took using our M1+ micro projector from Aaxa Technologies.

iPhone Pico Projector Setup

We came across these awesome visuals today of an iPhone hooked up to a P2 Pico Projector from Aaxa Technologies. You can see the adapter goes right into the bottom of the iPhone and then into a standard VGA input on the side of the projector. The P2 comes with the tripod standard and the adapter for the iPhone is an extra add-on that you can purchase through them. We will do our own review of the P2 Pico Projector at a later date but for now check out these great pics.

Here is the link to the iPhone Projector used in these photos.

MiLi iPhone Projector

I recently came across probably the coolest "looking" iPhone accessory yet. The design on this guy is very well done. It's a dock & pico projector for your iPhone and iPod touch.

The goods: It is very stylish. I think that based on looks alone it could impress most of your friends.

The bads: It doesn't pack the punch that it's competition does. The design of the case may be futuristic but the hardware on the inside is past its prime. This pico might have been good if it was released a few years ago but putting out a 10 lumen LED based projector falls short of what everyone else will be doing this year. LED projectors will be in the 30-70 lumen range for 2010 and be between $200-400.

Conclusion: Nice design for showing off (just don't turn it on) but you pay for it. As the old texas saying goes, "All hat, no cattle."

L1 Laser Projector by Aaxa Tech

We just received our highly anticipated laser projector from Aaxa Technologies. This is the self-proclaimed first laser pico projector on the market. Our research shows it really is the first. It has lived up to its hype. Projectorcentral.com reviewed it today and gave it 5/5 stars on performance. You can check out their review at http://www.projectorcentral.com/aaxa_l1_laser_pico_projector_review.htm.
The price is still higher than most LED based projectors but for some people the price is well worth it. This thing is super small, clear, and can stay in focus on any surface - even curved ones. The artistic and entertainment uses of a device that can stay in focus on curved surfaces are far and wide. MSRP as of now is $599. For more info on this particular pico projector check out www.aaxatech.com

The first image is a 40-50 inch projection, the second image is a 70-80 inch projection, both in a mostly dark room. These pictures were taken with a Canon Rebel EOS T1i.
